    The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has grant opportunities available from the Sport and Recreation arm of the department.

    The current small grants round of CSRFF opened on Monday, 1 July with applications due by 4.00pm on Friday, 30 August. Below is the link to information for applicants.

    You must contact our DLGSC Midwest Sport and Rec officers (Richard Malacari, or Simon Barras) to discuss your application prior to submitting it.

    Also, if you have project ideas for Shire owned sport and rec facilities, please contact Solataire Cameron and we can discuss the possibility of an application.

    Small grants will be awarded to projects involving a basic level of planning. The total project cost for small grants must not exceed $300,000.

    Some of the priority considerations for CSRFF include:

    Projects that will directly lead to an increase in physical activity or participation.
    Projects that lead to facility sharing between clubs, or rationalization of existing facilities to increase sustainability.
    Projects to upgrade facilities to make them more accessible for female participants (e.g. changerooms with lockable showers and no urinals).
    Projects in a location with a significant Aboriginal population that will increase participation or physical activity.
    The type of projects which will be considered for funding include:

    New playing surfaces — ovals, courts, synthetic surfaces etc.
    Floodlighting projects (must be to Australian Standards)
    Change rooms and ablutions
    Sports storage

    We’re inviting applications from organisations that provide services to the community or cultural sectors to act as head tenant for the City of Sydney’s property at 744 George Street, Haymarket.

    The lease will be for 3 years, with the possibility to extend for another 2 years.

    In late-2019, Haymarket Library will move from the premises to Darling Square.

    Proposed program and outcomes, including but not limited to:

    delivery of outcomes in line with Sydney 2030 and the City’s creative, economic and/or social strategies
    a program of engagement activities that build connection, community, partnerships, skills, knowledge and capability within an industry or community
    activation of the precinct and contribution to local community, commercial and/or cultural life through the use of the building
    engagement of the local community and opportunities for access and participation
    stakeholder engagement and management
    measurable community benefit commensurate with the rental subsidy requested.
    The successful applicant will engage with the local community and people walking by the premises, and contribute to the operating costs of the building.

    The Recreational Fishing Grants Scheme (NTRFGS) will offer grant funding for community projects that grow and support recreational fishing in the Territory.

    The scheme is funded by the Northern Territory Government’s $50-million RecFishing Futures Program and administered by the Fisheries Division of the Department of Primary Industry and Resources.

    In the 2019-20 financial year, the NTRFGS will offer grant funding to eligible organisations for projects and activities that directly improve recreational fishing experiences and opportunities in the Northern Territory.

    Eligible organisations can apply for small grants of up to $15,000, or large grants up to $100,000, for finite projects and activities that align with the NTRFGS’s objectives.

    Applications are sought from fishing clubs, Traditional Land Owners (Aboriginal Land Trusts), incorporated bodies and businesses. It is expected that successful projects will be announced early in the 2019-20 financial year.

    Objectives

    The objectives of the NTRFGS are to:

    Improve recreational fishing experiences in the NT;
    Create enhanced recreational fishing opportunities; and/or
    Open new opportunities for recreational fishing by developing infrastructure for fishing related visitation.
